Shock means on the way to death if we dont fix the problem. Classify the shock treat the underlying cause. Distributive shock is characterized by peripheral vasodilation that results in organ hypoperfusion secondary to hypotension, these include septic and neurogenic shock. Obstructive shock is defined by a blockage of your heart's vessels, an example is a massive pulmonary emoblism. Hypovolemic shock is a result of intravascular depletion, replace what is lost to increase stroke volume and CO. Cardiogenic shock is secondary to inadequate cardiac filling, such as a heart attack.
